most people don't actually want what the fediverse's architecture provides, it's fundamentally not good and can't be fixed. people want a global firehose and fediverse can never provide that. bluesky fakes it, but aggregation isn't really global you need a million dollar company to fake it. not decentralized.

I think you still have to host too much crap to run a fediverse server where you want a reasonably twitterlike experience.
