Recently I started experiencing intense anxiety: tightness in my chest, shortness of breath, racing thoughts, and waking up in the middle of the night unable to fall back asleep.
These symptoms were unusual for me, especially since I regularly use tools like meditation, yoga, pranayama, mindfulness, and spending time in nature to stay grounded.
Even with all these practices, the anxiety persisted.
So three days ago, I decided to make a simple change. I deleted Instagram and reduced all screen time at least two hours before bed. Almost immediately, I began to feel better.
Today I finally woke up without anxiety and with a sense of relief in my chest.
It’s wild how much social media, especially something like Instagram, can affect our nervous system. And I wasn’t even a heavy user. I can only imagine the impact it has on someone who’s on it all day.

Baby Maya is almost here 🥰
This needs to be addressed.
It’s disheartening to witness the growing number of foreigners coming to Costa Rica, not to integrate with our communities or honor our land, but to buy up beaches and rivers, often with little understanding or respect for the ecosystems and traditions that define this country.
Too many come, cut down our jungles, and build oversized homes completely out of sync with the natural environment.
Homes they often don’t even live in. This pattern is unsustainable, and it’s eroding the identity, ecology, and accessibility of Costa Rica for future generations.
I truly hope the government takes stronger measures to protect our land and reconsider the ease with which property can be sold to foreign investors. Costa Rica is not just a playground for outsiders, it’s a living, breathing country with deep roots, and it deserves better stewardship
Come and enjoy the jungle, respect it, honored it and please stop the unnecessary building and even more stop the cutting of the trees.
CAN YOU HOLD SPACE FOR ANOTHER?
Like really truly hold space for them?
One of the most generous gifts we can give someone is our ability to be WITH them without trying to get them somewhere or get something for ourselves.
To hold them energetically without turning the conversation back to us.
To refrain from saying 'me too,' 'in my experience,' 'I can so relate,' or 'how about this.'..
To resist fixing, guiding, saving, or moving at a different speed.
To meet them where they're at and for that place to be absolutely OK.
When we hold space for another, we allow them to move gently from their head to the heart. And if the heart feels safe and seen, we@@ will witness the transformation of the soul stepping forth, which is an honor indeed. We all yearn to be witnessed like this. We all long for someone with the capacity to truly hold us.
Can you hold space for others, without fixing them or turning the attention back to you?
Who in your life has the capacity to hold space for you?

First harvest from the plantains I planted a year ago. Feeling so proud of myself!
I dream of a less consumer driven world and a deeper connection with the earth and the food we eat.
One of my favorite things is how my neighbors and I share the fruits and veggies we grow.
There’s nothing like the joy of eating something you planted with your own hands…
Still gotta work on my machete skills lol.
I used the rest of the tree I cut down as mulch to nourish and protect the soil around the others.
Did you know that every time a banana or plantain tree gives fruit, it dies. But new ones are already growing before the old one falls. Nature is amazing. Pura vida!
