Oh I just zapped and I think it went thru.. ⚡ let me know @npub1wp2l...hpv0 😁
someone posted a song in german, I liked their post, so they DMed me this: "Do you even speak German?" I guess because the song is about "sexual assault" / r@&e they might have thought I'm just liking posts without understanding the story.. I told them, that I liked the beat, and just because I don't speak a language doesn't mean I don't get to enjoy the vibe..
You're not stuck in traffic, you are traffic.🚦
Being a content creator means that you have to be incredibly thick skinned, especially on a platform like #nostr were you can't restrict who follows you, that means you don't choose your audience, they choose you.. which means the gates are also open for trolls and bad faith actors. spotting these toxic people is surprisingly easy, once you know how they operate, the ones that do it best are hard to detect, they mix a good argument with an insult (either before or after the argument, doesn't matter), should you write a reply? Absolutely not, don't do it.. that type are fighters they're here for a boxing match.. you're not going to change their minds no matter what you say.. so don't waste your time. I have never used the block button, ever.. on a person that is.. only used it on bots and scam profiles of course.. when you don't give trolls a chance (by not engaging), you take away their power and they'll go look for another victim. So watch out for bad language, and also watch out for unclear motives, when I lacked experience I used to engage with these trolls and even after throwing my best arguments at them, they kept coming back by bringing up their previous points (and insults).. It felt like we're stuck in a loop, and that bring us to the third sign, you get drained, they sucked all your energy.. by the time your realize that, it would be too late.. To them mission accomplished. And be certain that they'll comeback each time you publish anything.. It's kinda scary tbh..
I'm not obsessed with minimalism but after stumbling across #512Club and seeing how these websites perform, I now wish that this principle becomes a standard practice.. maybe offer an option to load the 512 KB version or the full JavaScripted version.. that would be cool too #privacy #cybersecurity #minimalism #webdev #javascript #web #browsers
